Interesting. I think the old saying is true… Find something you love to do, your purpose, and you never work a day in your life. I feel that I have found my purpose and yet I work incredibly long and hard hours. Sometimes it is out of balance. Life can get that way. Recognize it and realign I do think there is more need for instant gratification.

Yes, I love that saying and I agree that when we do what we truly love, like you do Claire, then the hard work and intense energy we invest is gratifying, not grueling. I think the desire for instant gratification is hurting us. Perseverance is key to achieving anything worthwhile.

It was great as always. I have never thought about what is my purpose in life. Your writing made me think about my purpose now. Maybe take care of the people I love and I care. I still don’t know.

I do think a hard hitting culture can exist with one that is satisfying. I think part of the challenge is that the newer generation of kids want a shorter day and more work/life balance. Often times hard work means putting in more hours.

Finding our purpose is ever evolving and that’s what makes it interesting to me. There should be a balance of doing hard work and wanting the right culture with work. Hard work is just that...hard. It’s not necessarily going to be some ideal environment of joy and happiness.

The road to great accomplishment will definitely have challenges. It will be littered with hard work. Which makes the journey and the wins that much more meaningful. Do you think it’s not possible to have a hard working/a hard hitting culture that also exists within an environment where the overarching climate is one of satisfaction? I’d love to know more on your perspective. Thank you so much for sharing!

Excellent newsletter. Still, at my age, I’m trying to figure what my purpose is, what will I leave? Questioning.

The work experience is so true, my day we did the job without question. Fortunately I loved my job helping people, working in a doctors office.

We are constantly growing, changing, experiencing new seasons as too does our purpose grow, shift and even completely pivot. We also can have more than one purpose and often do. It’s the heart of our existence.
