Questions, Comments, Cool Finds?! Let's Chat About It.
Introducing a designated group chat for our community.
A Life Considered is a reader supported publication.
If you are finding value in our corner here, please upgrade your subscription to a Yearly Supporter or become a Founding Circle Supporter. Your paid subscription will treat me to an Intelligentsia coffee while I toil away for the dozens of hours each week that I lovingly and doggedly write, research, edit, and nurture our community. No advertisers littering our sacred space and no algorithms manipulating what you see and read.
Hello my dear friends,
Let’s jump right in with this week’s micro edition of my Little Black Book of treasures I am loving right now.
Identifying with the great love I have for my girlfriends and how much they have helped shape who I am today, I had been eagerly awaiting first love by lilly dancyger to land on shelves and in my hands. “Each essay in this incisive collection is grounded in a close female friendship in Dancyger’s life, reaching outward to dissect cultural assumptions about identity and desire, and the many ways women create space for each other in a world that wants us small.” I have been reading this treasure trove of stories every evening this week and I have sincerely enjoyed reflecting on my own friendships as I journey with Lily as she traverses the terrain of the female relationships that have left her most changed.
Recently my intuition has been calling me to explore Ayurveda, a holistic science of life that aims to balance and improve mind, body, spirit, and social well-being. Because I have had very little experience or knowledge in Ayurveda, I started researching and found Ayurveda specialist, Martha Soffer, in my own backyard. She founded renown Surya Spa, which is on my list to try, but decided to dip my toe in the water with her Skincare Discovery Set. I love every product in the set with the Balancing Collagen Cream worked into the skin with the Kansa Wand, next level. I can’t explain it, but highly recommend experiencing it yourself.
Rosanna & Paolo Sideboard by Erwan Boulloud is an absolute stunner that would be a dream piece in the music room of our new home. The brass marquetry design creating the decorative pattern of reverberating circles adorned with crystals speaks in my mind to the movement of music. I imagine a gorgeous turn table on the top with vintage vinyl records inside.
Questions, Comments, Cool Finds?! Let’s Chat About It
Dear Friends,
Summer is here in the Northern Hemisphere. That translates to longer days, warmer temperatures, more socializing, and typically more travel.
For which…
We need recommendations for summer reads, favorite natural sunscreens, recipes for refreshing cocktails and mocktails, exhibits to see, places to eat, concerts and movies in the park, things to do with our “Mini Me’s”, fashion drops, and the list goes on.
On tap we also are following a Presidential election, all things Royal, and if Bennifer are heading for a divorce.
There is so much to talk about with those topics being just the tip of the iceberg. And there is no one else I would rather commune with on all of this than you!
Which made me think, hhmmm, that perhaps, you too, would like to have a group of trusted peeps you could ping, on the fly, with questions, comments, and cool finds.
Graduation gift ideas, anyone? The perfect summer white t-shirt? Decoding teen speak? (ok so this is especially for me perhaps) Favorite anti-aging hack? Fantastic at home workout? Yummy snacks? What’s in your reading stack? I’m in NY, what’s the best pizza joint? Advice on just about anything that has you curious. We have each other’s back!
Commentary on what’s on your mind. Sheep farming. Gardening. Interior design. Relationships. Parenting. Travel in different locals. Gratitude list. Just dive in!
So today I am (re-)kicking off this special place for us to share what’s on our mind and discuss it all. A group chat just for us.
In order to be able to pop in whenever you want to check out the buzz or to add to it, first download the app, if you have not already, by clicking the link directly below.
Once you have done that, I hope you will come chat with me…with us. I will start our inaugural chat today. You will receive a separate email this morning, inviting you to chime in on a few topics I would love to know your thoughts on.
As another writer-host has said, this is kind of like throwing a party, so I do hope you will stop by.
Now a special side note I want to share…
I feel loved, blessed, and joyful that you all believe in the value of this space to be a subscriber, regardless of if you are a free subscriber or paid. The fact that you are here fills me with deep gratitude.
And many of you who are paid subscribers are so for no other reason than to further show your love and support for me. Which is deeply humbling and warms me to the core.
As commerce works, there are special bits and bobs for paid subscribers, more of which will be rolled out as I continue to build out our space.
For now, I have a little something special for paid subscribers…
As a paid subscriber, you are able to initiate chats to our community yourself. Desperately in need of insight, help, or recommendations, right now. Use our version of “the bat phone,” and chat us up!
Also, I will be hosting private chats, just for those of you who are paid and Founding Circle Members, where I will share more personal in nature content, such as real-time pictures and finds from travel and life for example.
So if you want to get in on this action and you are not yet a paid subscriber, you can upgrade below.
Can’t wait to share a space where we can support each other more and have some fun.
With love,
WRW, thank you for creating this space to ask & answers questions and have a chat. I have such a high regard for you, I know in advance your community will be a safe space to connect. I'm in the early stages of starting a business. There. I said it out loud. It's an idea you've heard about, one that's been percolating for a while ... but now I actually have a couple of friends on board (dream creative partners) who are flying in from Nashville in a few weeks to brainstorm - and together, we will create actionable steps to get this project up and running. I'm excited, a little anxious and committing to myself and this group of strangers that I'm moving forward with this idea. I don't have questions for the group just yet, but may have some in the future. So again, WRW, thank you for creating this space to share our thoughts, potentially ask questions and support one another.
Love to have a chat, or, since I’m very senior, sit back and listen to all you younger ones chat on! But, if anyone is interested in what it’s like showing dogs in places like Westminster, held in NYC, ask away!
