Welcome to “A Life Considered” where we talk about design — but not in the way you think.

It’s where we explore and (re)define how we architect our lives with others, ourselves, and the world.

When it comes down to it, so many of us are careless with our lives, taking tomorrow for granted, and responding reactionary to our To-Do list and whims.

Mary Oliver's poem, The Summer Day, poses the question, “Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

To which I say, let’s reflect and intentionally create what we truly want out of our one wild and precious life!

To do that, this is where you’ll find…

  • insights to help you move from autopilot to conscious, activated designer of a life that is rich with purpose, connection, and authenticity

  • guidance on creating a life with fewer regrets

  • perspective on navigating the relationships that tend to be the trickiest — those with our kids, partner, family, boss, etc. — with thoughtfulness and grace

  • support in having a more compassionate relationship with yourself amidst life’s messiness

  • inspiration through my Little Black Book to elevate your relationship with the beauty, creativity, and function of found objects, blending material treasures with the spiritual

  • an inspiring community of kind, curious, and astute people who nurture and celebrate one another’s growth

About Me:

I am a woman, wife, and mother. I am a lover of wisdom, from the ancient stoics to the modern philosophers and cutting edge researchers. I am an avid reader and an independent thinker, constantly sifting through the noise, unearthing valuable insights, especially on all things consciously living, parenting thoughtfully, and bringing forward the best version of ourselves and our children. I have two school-aged children, a son and a daughter, a husband who has been my best friend since we met in college, and 3 black poodles.

I have held the professional titles of Founder, CEO, and Consultant. My work expertise developed into leading organizations through crisis to stability and renewal. These past lives required many proficiencies, most notably the ability to understand and simplify complex problems, pivot strategies, and coach executive leadership in realizing their goals.

In addition to writer, my current job description is “bringing forth, making ready, preparing.” My title is Mother. I have synthesized the years of my life experience and expertise, personally and professionally, and cultivated what I have learned to fulfill this role of a lifetime.

My story, that of my children, and ours as a family is not finished. We are writing it every day. I look forward to, and hope that I can support you in writing yours.

So again, welcome. Come on in. I am known for hosting a great party that you will not want to miss.

With love and warmth,

Francesca Fartaj
