For me this year is to find the balance between nurturing my curiosity and investing in my self-care more intentionally. I wish I could stretch out time every day, but I want to be more intentional in my bedtime routine -- thank you for sharing your story as it resonates so much; meditating; journaling; spending more time in nature; and with people that fill my cup. 🤍🤍

Awh the dynamic tension between being curious which leads to expansion with slowing down and nurturing yourself with sleep. Self care fuels your curiosity. Must have a full tank. Here’s to your devotion to care for your body so that you can find expansion in your mind. ❣️

I love a new year. I like to reflect on the past years wins and misses. I also like to set lofty goals for myself. I don’t consider them resolutions, just achievements I would like to strive towards. This year, I want to be more intentional with my money, time, and who I spend my time with. I also want to do more random acts of kindness. For me, this will be more intentional than just giving money to a charity. it’s early in the year but so far I’m off to a good start!

Hi Claire. I love the nuance you make between resolutions and achievements you want to strive towards. That feels so much more aligned with the fact that goals take time and don’t happen overnight from December 31st to January 1st. Your intentions are inspiring. Thank you for sharing. ❤️

My new devotion is giving all of my time and effort that I have given to others, I am now giving to myself.

Hi Marni. Nurturing yourself sounds heavenly. I’ve found that when I’m really in a centered, grounded state of fullness then I attract others who are in a similar state. Then we add to each other’s experience. It’s beautiful and reciprocal. Cheers to you filling up your own cup. ♥️

My life is simple now with a couple of daily chores I refuse to miss, brush my dogs teeth and exercise.

Hi Chris. 😉 Can you please teach me how to brush my dogs’ teeth and what tools/supplies to use. I need to start doing this. 😘

Sure, it’s really easy. I ordered soft bristle tooth brushes from Amazon, I think 6 in a pack.

I brush once a day. Slide the tooth brush in one side of dogs mouth and start by brushing the back molars, both upper and lower. If they keep their mouth closed you will only brush the upper. You might need to poke your finger in the mouth to get that back lower molar. Then brush the sides and front. Front is very important because built up tarter will cause the front teeth to loosen and eventually they will loose them.

Good luck!

My new devotion is to finding peace in as many situations as possible. Even the really challenging ones. As you talk about, it really is a kind of discipline in the way we view and act through each interaction or situation.

I also love the idea, as Elizabeth Gilbert has talked about recently, that we don't always have to be achieving, striving, showing increasing "profits" to be of value. We are already of value. Sometimes we just get to exist and be here - which speaks to your idea of taking time to rest and do what brings us to our most centred selves. 🩷

Hi Ruthie. Thank you so much for always meeting me here in the comments. I love your perspective and what you add to the conversation. Amazing! Yes how our value is not predicated on doing and achieving. We are enough just by being. ♥️

Happy New Year! Sleep is so important. My sweet spot is 8.5-9 hours. It’s hard to put the phone down but not worth ruining an entire night of sleep.
